PERSONAL BRANDING

Creating my personal brand, I kept a clean, simple design so that it wouldn’t be too distracting when used on things like this website or other things that show my work. At the same time it needs to grab attention when standing alone on things like business cards.

When sketching out concepts I kept seeing the e and as a pair of eyes so I rolled with it.

Being a stickler for detail, I made sure my icon showed that, even if not blatantly obvious. Icon grid:

The color palette consists of dark grey and white, with a blue added here and there to give it some life.

I use Futura on all things Edgar Ortiz because it’s clean and simple, yet warm and friendly, yet cool and collected. It has a large variety of weights and styles, making it easy to use text in a variety of ways while keeping a consistent brand look.

Although my website and portfolio use mostly grey and white to keep the viewer’s attention on the work, I found the blue to be pretty useful when designing stand-alones, like the business cards:
